MY MID SEMESTER BREAK.

            My holiday may not very interesting if I want to compare with yours. However, first of all I am so grateful that I can meet my beloved mother and I love her very much. If I went home, normally the most I keen in was the delicious foods cooked by my mum. I love to eat all my mother's cooking meals such as Nasi Minyak, curry mee, Nasi Lemak, fried noodles, fried rice and others. So maybe I should marry someone who was good at cooking on her own and my mother's recipes. Recently this Friday, I had a dinner of curry mee with my mother and one of my cousin that visit my home. If I felt boring, usually I will watch any movie I liked either in the television or in my laptop that I already had downloaded them. I thought that was all my mid semester break recently, it was so simple but I am still grateful I can be with my family most of the time although in a short period of time.

Now I want to share with you about my holiday experience. First of all, I safely arrived at my home, Dungun in the morning of 17th October. My parents decided to had a picnic with the family near a beach. They decided to have the picnic at Pantai Batu Burok which is only 80 km from our home. On 18 October, after all of my siblings had arrived home, we drove to the the beach.When we arrived there, my siblings and I were surprised because there was a family day on the beach. My mom and dad gave a surprise to us. They told us that the family day was the idea of my mom's employer.

It was a happy moment for all of us.

Writing a Summary of a Short Story

A summary is condensed version of a larger reading.  A summary is not a rewrite of the original piece and does not have to be long nor should it be long.  To write a summary, use your own words to express briefly  the main idea and relevant details of the piece you have read.   Your purpose in writing the summary is to give the basic ideas of the original reading.  What was it about and what did the author want to communicate? 

While reading the original work, take note of what or who is the focus and ask the usual questions that reporters use: Who? What? When? Where? Why? How?  Using these questions to examine what you are reading can help you to write the summary.

Sometimes, the central idea of the piece is stated in the introduction or first paragraph, and the supporting ideas of this central idea are presented one by one in the following paragraphs. Always read the introductory paragraph thoughtfully and look for a thesis statement.  Finding the thesis statement is like finding a key to a locked door.  Frequently, however, the thesis, or central idea, is implied or suggested.  Thus, you will have to work harder to figure out what the author wants readers to understand.

Use any hints that may shed light on the meaning of the piece: pay attention to the title and any headings and to the opening and closing lines of paragraphs.

In writing the summary, let your reader know the piece that you are summarizing. Identify the title, author and source of the piece. You may want to use this formula:
In "Title of the Piece" (source and date of piece), author shows that: central idea of the piece.  The author supports the main idea by using _____________________ and showing that ______________________________________________________.

Here is a sample summary:
In the short story "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty," author James Thurber humorously presents a character who fantasizes about himself as a hero enduring incredibly challenging circumstances. In his real life, Walter Mitty lives an ordinary, plain life; he is a husband under the control of an overbearing, critical wife.  Thurber uses lively dialogue to give readers an understanding of Mitty's character. The story takes place over a period of about twenty minutes; during this brief time, Mitty drives his wife to the hairdresser and runs errands that his wife has given him while he waits for her. In between his worrying that he is not doing what she wants him to do, he daydreams about himself as a great surgeon, brilliant repair technician, expert marksman, and brave military captain. This story shows that fantasy is often a good alternative to reality.

Remember:

• Do not rewrite the original piece.
• Keep your summary short.
• Use your own wording.
• Refer to the central and main ideas of the original piece.
• Read with who, what, when, where, why and how questions in mind.
• Do not put in your opinion of the issue or topic discussed in the original piece. Often, instructors ask students to put their opinions in a paragraph separate from the summary.

My mid semester break

Assalamualaikum everyone, last week from 16 until 25th October, I went back to my hometown at Klang for my semester break.At my hometown, I did many activities but the most interesting activity was the cooperation to clean my residential area. I took the duty as a sweeper. I swept all dead leaves on the ground around my residential area. I was not the only one who did this duty. I was helped by my friends.
Moreover, other residents did other activities likes cleaning drains, cutting trees and other duties.
At noon, we took lunch break.A lot of food was prepared for us like masak merah fried egg, chilli patin fish and rice. The food was cooked by housewives in my residential area.

Favourite Anime

Assalamualaikum and hi there! Thanks a lot for keeping follow my post since i have been a user of this blog. I hope all of you are still enjoying to read my new post from time to time. So, today i wanted to share about one of an anime movie i liked to watch which was Code Breakers. Did you used to hear about this anime? I was pretty sure none of you or maybe just a few of you used to hear about this anime which was played by episodes. There was only 13 episodes of them which were very short story. So i will tell you a little bit of its summary. The main character for hero and heroin in this story were namely Ogami and Sakura. Ogami worked as a code breaker number 06 that had a power of destruction meanwhile Sakura was only an ordinary human. They knew each other because Ogami was transferred to the same school of her and co-incidentally they were classmates. He went there because he must to do his job as a code breaker 06. For your extra information code breakers consist of 6 members and their strength were according to the number they possessed. So, code breaker 01 is the most powerful namely Hitomi. Code breakers were responsible to keep the city and country safe from the evil people. They will use their destructive power to eliminate all the evil people from this world since either the law or the policemen can judge that evil people. However, Hitomi suddenly changed and oppose all the responsibility as a code breaker. Ogami wanted to save his best friend, Hitomi, and at the same time he wanted to ask Hitomi for his changed without any explanation to him. You wanted to know more about this story? Aidiladha : )

Assalamualaikum and very good morning to all,..,This is my first posting in my blog,..In this post,I want to share you about my moment in Aidiladha.This year,the Aidiladha is on 5 October (Saturday),.,,first,I took my bus from UTM to my village at 3 October at 8.00 p.m..then,I  arrived at my home on 4 October at 5 a.m...After I arrived at my home,I helped my family to prepared our Aidiladha celebration..I helped my mother to bought a some food for our celebration while my brother and sister helped my father to cleaned our house,..Then,at the morning  on 5 October,my family and I went the mosque to perform our aidiladha prayers,..after that,my family and I went to our village to helped our grandfather to perform their "korban".This is the sweet experiences because there we had learned how to perform the "korban" and also we had met and chatting with the villagers.From there,we had knowledge about Aidiladha and also had to tasted the food from the villagers,..its very delicious,..

That only about my moment in aidiladha,..I hope I will has the chance to celebrate the Aidiladha again next year and I also want to wish you all,Happy Aidilaha : )

aidiladha celebration

Assalamualaikum and a very good morning to all bloggers, i am one of the user of this blog is glad to share with you all about my experience in celebration of 'aidiladha' or called as 'Hari Raya Korban'. It was very sad that i did not went home during 'aidiladha' feast to celebrate with my beloved family as i was given only a short holidays to be at home, so i made a decision to stay in my hostel which is at K 9&10 college. However, it was my first experience that i did not have a celebration with my family. Since i was in college, i decided to join a program under an organization to visit an orphanage house out of Malaysia Technology University ( UTM ) area. We went there by cars after all muslims perform a prayer at the mosque. There, my friends and i helped to cut beefs in conjunction of 'Hari Raya Korban' together with the villager there. After we had done doing those activity, we were having a feast. We arrived our college at 4 p.m. At night we were having barbecues from the beefs we got at orphanage house after all we done there.  It was a memorable day for us. ~Feeling enjoyable~ :) :)

My aidiladha

Last Monday ,i was celebrated my eid aidiladha with my friend at UTM Skudai.This time my celebration a little bit different from another my celebration because i don't celebrate with my family at my hometown.At the day,i very thankful to Allah because  i can pray eid at the morning.However,i feel disappointed because can't ate ketupat, kuah kacang and rendang ayam at that morning.I was only ate biscuit.This time celebration very bored until i can watched 2 or 3 movie at the day.at the afternoon,i studies static for my test will come just around a corner.After isyak,my friend invited me to eat some of ketupat and rendang that his took from is hometown.

Second Day of The Class

Today is the second day of the class. There is only 3 students in my class. I took them to the language lab since we do not have a proper class yet. Today's lesson is on creating and maintaining a blog.
