I
have started to not so into English since primary school maybe due to where I
live and people surrounds me. Since I live in a countryside area, people there
did not talk in English and it will give me a problem if I do talk in English
among them. The way I develop my English knowledge are through movies and
songs. My passion is toward English song and English movie. I hate to watch
English movies with Malay subtitle. As time goes to secondary school I have
started watch Korean drama online. It somehow develop my English skills. Maybe
because of that my English grade pretty good back there. Yes, I admit that my
grade may be good but my confidence level to talk in English in front of the
whole classes was pretty bad. I can talk but not so good. Writing, listening
and reading is the skills that I'm doing good but speaking is the skills that I
stuck with. I have graduated form secondary school with flying colors which
then I continued my studies in Uitm Puncak Alam, taking foundation of science
as my course. Whenever English class, I kept thought when will this class over.
When I'm getting band 2 for MUET my parents felt very disappointed as they want
me to become a doctor but later as I said to them that I want to be an engineer
they totally support me and that was making me feel very happy. I'm fully aware
that in order to become an engineer our English skills must be very good so I
take it as a challenge. Since I came to UTM my whole perception went to the
opposite side, my confidence to talk improved a lot as there is a lot of
presentation and we have to communicate in English with my teammates. My
parents now know the importance of English and they already my sisters to take
English tuition. I hope as I further my studies in UTM, my English skills will
improve and improve more.
